Peter Anderson joined The Hayes as its Centre Manager in 1988 when the venue had no en-suite bedrooms, a single conference hall with no audio-visual equipment, and at a time when Wi-Fi access was unheard of. Since then the centre has been transformed, with milestone developments such as the Alan Booth centre, Lakeside and Derbyshire Suite delivered and extensive investment made in the site’s infrastructure. After nearly 28 years in the role, Peter has decided that now the time is right for him to move on and embrace a new challenge.
Looking back over those years, Peter explains: "My overriding memories are of the people I have met, who are the life blood of The Hayes. Over the years many enduring relationships have been formed, not only with my colleagues, but also with a myriad of customers, partners and suppliers. I am confident for the future of this thriving centre, which has facilitated more than a century of people gathering together and which, I am convinced, will continue to do so for many more years to come".
Peter leaves a strong and committed team in place to carry forward the work of the centre. John Harrison, CEO of CCT, adds "we have been blessed to have had Peter on board as a member of the senior leadership team for so long and his wisdom, expertise and attention to detail, and the care that he has shown towards our guests and colleagues alike, will be missed by many. We are fortunate indeed to be able to build on such a solid legacy".
