Christmas at The Hayes

Christmas has always been an important time at The Hayes. Thanks to its beautiful setting, welcoming interior and elegant rooms it’s the perfect place for a cosy festive celebration, and we welcome hundreds of people to our site throughout the Christmas period.

This year is no different, with a number of events taking place in the run up to the big day. If you live in the local Derbyshire area, are passing through during December or if you’re looking for a fun, festive activity to enjoy with your friends and family this Christmas, why not come along to one of our events and really make the most of this special time of year.

Sunday Lunch with Santa, Sunday 11th December

Christmas at The Hayes kicks off this year with a festive Christmas feast on Sunday 11th December. Ideal for families, the carvery lunch will take place in one of our beautiful event spaces. The mouth-watering menu features all of your festive favourites, with everything from roast turkey and roast pork to fresh fish on offer. For vegetarian visitors, we’re making a healthy and delicious nut roast, while all of our diners can choose from a selection of indulgent seasonal puddings.

The highlight of the event is a very special visit from the man in red himself. During his stop off at The Hayes Santa will give every child their very own gift, spreading smiles and festive cheer as he goes.

Festive Christmas Lunch, Tuesday 13th and Thursday 15th December

On Tuesday 13th and Thursday 15th December, we’re holding two more Christmas feasts. Perfect for groups of ten or more, this buffet-style meal – complete with crackers and party hats - will help to get you and your friends and family in the festive mood.

Our sumptuous three course spread has something to keep everyone happy. From a seafood medley to baked camembert and stuffed butternut squash to herb crusted salmon and turkey with all the trimmings. If you’ve got any room left for dessert, take your pick from Christmas pudding, fruit salad or delicious Scottish oat cakes.

Young at Heart Christmas Lunch, Wednesday 14th December

One of our favourite events of the Christmas period is our Young at Heart Christmas lunch. Designed for senior citizens who want to get out and enjoy the festive period, the lunch will include a good old-fashioned sing along and maybe even a dance or two.

The menu showcases a true Christmas classic, roast turkey with stuffing and cranberry sauce. Served with seasonal veg and a rich gravy, it’s the perfect way to start your festive celebrations.
