Meet the Belsey Bridge team - Siân

November 2018

Siân Assistant Manager at Belsey Bridge

Siân is an Assistant Manager at Belsey Bridge Conference Centre in Ditchingham. She is one of the members of staff on hand to welcome and assist all of the guests, throughout their stay at the centre.

We asked Siân a few questions about her role at Belsey Bridge.

What does your role involve at CCT?

Generally speaking, my role is to look after all of the groups at the centre and to make sure their stay is as happy as can be. Also to assist and facilitate the other members of staff at Belsey Bridge in their role of serving each individual guest.

How long have you worked at CCT?

It is the longest time I have ever stayed in one job, over 11 years! Firstly at High Leigh for 7 ½ years and then I moved to Belsey Bridge in February 2015.

What do you enjoy most about working at CCT?

The uniqueness of all three conference centres and with all members of staff who are striving to ensure that all our guests experience real Christian hospitality, whatever event they are attending at our centre. I also like the fact that every day is different.

What do you like most about your colleagues?

At Belsey Bridge, we have a small but perfectly formed team. Everyone is willing to help each other out and a number of our staff are capable of working in more than one department.

Do you have a favourite area of the conference centre that you enjoy spending time in?

In the summer, when groups are all in session, it is lovely to have the odd moment sitting by the open air swimming pool to reflect and listen to the birds. We are very blessed to have extensive grounds at Belsey Bridge, plus the surrounding fields and countryside.

What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?

I am not sure that you should keep any talents that you have a secret! I hand make all of the cards I send, including birthday and Christmas cards. I also make jewellery in my spare time and always have one or more projects on the go.

Coffee or tea?

I am definitely a tea girl, no question. I am not into coffee or anything coffee flavoured.

What did you do before joining CCT?

I worked for Wycliffe Bible Translators in their conference centre near High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. Before that, I worked in 5 different hotels, across London and Kent.
