A short break is a key part of your Alpha Course. Getting away together - for a weekend, or even just for a day - helps to deepen learning, build faith, and strengthen friendships.
This change of scenery can bring a fresh perspective; away from the distractions and obligations of our everyday lives, we are free to relax. It’s a better environment for learning, and let’s face it, it’s more fun to get to know your group in a new environment.
During your Alpha weekend, you can schedule time to include a mixture of talks and videos, breakout discussions, fellowship, activities and prayer. We understand that some of the best conversations can happen during unscheduled moments, so be sure to include plenty of variety and some quiet time in your planning. Considerately scheduling these sessions will help you to maximise your group’s time away, as well as ensuring the participants engage with the talks and get the most from their experience.
Our three centres in Derbyshire, Hertfordshire and East Anglia make the perfect backdrop for an Alpha course. Set in manor house conference centres with acres of beautiful gardens, The Hayes, High Leigh and Belsey Bridge each combine practical indoor spaces with inspiring outdoor settings, where your group will find the time and space to be themselves.
We can host your Alpha group for a day, or for the weekend with accommodation. There are no supplements for single occupancy, and we offer a range of bedrooms including specially adapted rooms for guests with disabilities.
If you choose to host your church’s Alpha weekend in one of our three centres, your booking will include the use of our high-quality audio visual equipment, for your speakers’ talks or videos. Many of our conference rooms have connecting breakout rooms, perfect for smaller workshops and group discussions. You’ll be welcomed with free Wi-Fi, and free tea, coffee and hot chocolate throughout your stay.
We are looking forward to welcoming your group safely to our centres. We have additional cleaning measures in place, and will work with you to create safely distanced room layouts and staggered arrival times. For bookings made now, we are offering extra flexibility, to help you move your booking if necessary.
