Three free guides to equip you for your conference

February 2023

At Christian Conference Trust, we love seeing what happens when people get together for in-person gatherings. The power of shared experiences like worship and teaching. The joy of new connections made over a meal. The gift of laughter, long conversations and people just being away together. The opportunity is great but the logistics can be daunting. You might not know where to start to even make an event happen. You might have a specific focus, like working with young people, but you don’t know how to meet it. Maybe you just need some inspiration about why to run an event and what it could look like. We want to help you and empower you wherever you are – so we’ve made three free guides for you to download and enjoy.

How to plan your Christian event

This guide is all about equipping you for the logistical, practical questions around Christian event planning. It takes you through the key steps of event organising so you can work in a clear, logical manner and plan out your journey with ease. The aim is to make event planning a less chaotic and overwhelming experience by framing it in terms of key questions like: who is this for? What are your goals? How do you practically achieve them? It includes space for you to fill out your own event details and plan out things like itinerary, venue and volunteers. Whether you’ve done events before or this is your first, this guide will make the process smoother, calmer and help you run a truly excellent event.

How to run a conference for young people

This guide is geared towards events that serve a particular audience: young people. Youth gatherings offer an awesome opportunity to give young people a fun and formational holiday that could change their life forever. Work with young people also presents numerous challenges, like how to engage a generation you may be unfamiliar with, or how to handle safeguarding concerns so your event is truly safe. This event guides you through the practical steps and questions for a youth conference so you can be relieved of pressure and focus on creating something memorable for your group.

How to get inspired for your event

You might know you need to plan an event, but feel lacking in ideas or inspiration. Where do you even start? How do you make sure this isn’t just another conference but rather something powerful that people will never forget? This guide exists to help get you creative as you think about the big picture vision of your event. For example, what kind of themes do you want to explore and how could you do that in an engaging way? How do you get the right speakers to address those themes, and what makes a good talk or seminar?
