8 things we've updated at our centres

October 2023

As we are a not-for-profit organisation, we are constantly pouring money back into our centres. Whether it's new mattresses, updated sound equipment or environmentally friendly LED lighting, we believe in providing the BEST place for your groups to meet. So, here are 8 things you recently requested that we have introduced at The Hayes and High Leigh.

More quiet areas at The Hayes

We have transformed the Upstairs Lounge into a quiet communal space. It is complete with comfy sofas, tasteful decor and a large table and chairs perfect for those board game evenings.

A cosy lounge area with comfy seating, warm lighting with the stairs in the background leading to the Brown Lounge.

It doesn't stop there! We now have a dedicated reading spot at the top of the first flight of stairs in the main house. Bring your own book or pick one from our selection!

New firepits at High Leigh

There's nothing like roasting marshmallows over an open fire. As requested we have installed firepits and seating near the YewTree Hall at High Leigh.

New mattresses at The Hayes

We heard your requests and are now replacing 25% of our mattresses each year to improve your comfort during your stay. When you retreat with us, it's important that you are not only well-fed but well-rested.

LED lighting at High Leigh

After several requests, we have gone fully LED at High Leigh. Our carbon footprint has been reduced by 4.6 tonnes CO2e per year as a result. That's the weight of 2 rhinos!

A variety of salads at The Hayes

We now offer a good selection of salads with our lunch and dinner meals. You'll now have a variety of tastes and colours!

New hearing loops in the Walnut Room and Willow Hall

It's so important for all our guests to enjoy their conferences with us so we've installed new hearing loops in the Walnut Room and Willow Hall. These state-of-the-art systems will provide clear and consistent sound to attendees with hearing aids.

Refurbished bedrooms at The Hayes

We have been refurbishing a number of bedrooms on the top floor of the main house at The Hayes. You will also see new carpet in the hallways of the top floor and stairs leading down to the ground floor.

A new heating unit in the Chapel Barn at High Leigh

Winter is well on its way now and it's important that you stay warm throughout your stay. You requested better heating in the Chapel Barn and we heard you. A new heating system has been installed to keep your meetings warm and toasty!

These are just a few of the changes we've made in response to your comments. If you have a concern while conferencing at our venues, please let us know during your stay. We want to make your time away as pleasant as we can and will listen to what you have to say!

Come and see for yourself!
