In addition to sourcing electricity for The Hayes and High Leigh from suppliers that generate electricity from renewable sources, CCT has also invested £70,000 this financial year in the installation of over 300 square metres of photovoltaic panels on the Lakeside building at The Hayes. The system is expected to generate 45,000 kilowatt hours per year, in turn saving 23.5 tonnes of CO2 emissions every year. This is the equivalent of the amount of CO2 produced by 5 return flights from London to Sydney each year or that produced from travelling over 70,000 miles by car.
