CCT’s mobile maintenance team, who have completed projects at all three Centres, are currently doubling the size of the Small Conference Hall at The Hayes. This project is on an even bigger scale than the extension to Yew Tree Hall, completed at High Leigh several years ago. Once complete, the Hall will be available as one large space, but it will also be possible to divide it into two separate spaces with sound-proof dividers. This will allow us to accommodate two conferences of 150 delegates on each side, or one large conference of up to 300 delegates using the entire space. As with our other Conference Halls, the space will be equipped with audio-visual equipment and wireless internet that will be available to use at no additional cost.
It is now less than 2 years until the Olympics come to London. With High Leigh being so close to both Stratford and the other venues being used for the Games, it was decided by the trustees of CCT that High Leigh would be used as a resource to facilitate the wider Christian mission work during the Games. We are now pleased to confirm we will be working in partnership with More Than Gold, the Christian organisation that exists as a catalyst for the wider church to utilise this once in a lifetime opportunity. David Willson, the Chief Executive of More Than Gold explains: “I know that High Leigh will be an oasis and blessing to the many people who will be coming from overseas to work with us. I am looking forward to partnering with High Leigh in this Olympic endeavour”.
Belsey Bridge, the latest addition to the CCT family, is located on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, only 12 miles south of Norwich and 15 miles from the coast. Accommodating up to 110 delegates, the Centre is available for a range of events. Throughout the launch of Belsey Bridge, there has been a commitment to support the local Christian community. For example, in June of this year, Belsey Bridge proudly sponsored ‘Celebrate Norwich & Norfolk’. John Betts, the Project Director explains “We were delighted to have Belsey Bridge as a sponsor, enabling us to host a two-day event in the centre of Norwich that was a celebration of the Christian community from across Norfolk. Belsey Bridge is a fantastic resource for the wider church to make use of – and so it is a valuable and key partner to work with”.
